St. Thomas Community School
St. Thomas is a community school with approximately 300 students. It has no electricity and until recently there was no water.

The classrooms are divided by cardboard partitions.
The teachers mostly volunteer their time.
With no plumbing available, the students and teachers at St. Thomas Community School use these outdoor bathrooms.
Another organization is currently constructing a new building for the students. Here is a picture of the elated students in front of their partially completed school.
When the people at USAID (a U.S. government agency) heard about our efforts to bring water to the St. Thomas Community School, they donated two 10,000-liter tanks to hold the water.
In December 2009, the Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley, MN provided funds for the St. Thomas Community School to connect a water line from the well across the road into their schoolyard. What a beautiful gift to give to these children clean water for drinking and sanitation.
Construction began in early January 2010.

Success! CLEAN RUNNING WATER finally arrived for students and teachers at the St. Thomas Community School in late January 2010. Thank you to everyone who worked hard to complete this project so quickly.
A special thank you to Calvary Lutheran Church for making this project possible.
