Over the years your support has enabled our patient numbers to grow. As our patient numbers have grown so have our costs.

Your donations have supported us in working closely with vulnerable patients. Helping us to understand their complex needs and adapting our programs to ensure that every single child, adolescent and pregnant women gets the best care possible and can lead a happy, healthy, long life.
We need your support more than ever. In order to continue to provide the high level of support that we have achieved over the years we need to fundraise more money. To have a life changing impact on HIV+ vulnerable children, adolescents and pregnant women we need your donations.

This year we are aiming to raise $20,000 towards the TTF Clinic. Will you join us & give a gift  of health to a vulnerable child this Christmas?

HOW YOU HAVE HELPED US TO ADAPT TO PATIENT NEEDS...

In the early days of TTF , when HIV treatment wasn't available in Zambia, our priority was getting children onto ART (Anti-retroviral Treatment). Thanks to your ongoing support over the years we have been able to initiate over 2000 children, adolescents and pregnant women onto treatment.

After 13 years we know that alone medication is NOT enough for the vulnerable children we work with.

Many of the children who come to TTF live with large families, in one room houses, surviving on as little as $2 per day. Their lives are complicated.
Access to treatment and medication may have improved improved but HIV myths and stigma remain the biggest barrier to people accessing treatment.

Without the right support and HIV information, HIV+ children will drop out of care and fail treatment.

In the past two years we have been working tirelessly to identify children and adolescents living with HIV; support them in coming to the clinic; and understand their needs in order to stay on treatment.

WHY IS THE TINY TIM & FRIENDS CLINIC NEEDED?

When Tiny Tim & Friends first started working in Zambia in 2004 HIV treatment (ART) was not available for the majority of the population. We were the only facility in Zambia helping children living with HIV.

Today, HIV treatment is available across Zambia. But within Lusaka 1 in 7 people are HIV+. With over 60% of people living with HIV on treatment, government clinics are stretched.

Getting individuals, onto ART early and supporting them to stay on treatment is essential to ensuring that people can live long, healthy lives. Attending clinic appointments on time and taking medication properly means HIV transmission will be reduced to ZERO. But this is not always so simple. Children and adolescents from the compounds of Lusaka have a range of social and counseling needs to help them understand HIV and stay on treatment.

Sadly, government clinics cannot provide the specialist services vulnerable children and adolescents need to start and stay in medical care.  By donating to TTF you are directly supporting access to high quality medical care, counselling, and treatment support for vulnerable HIV+ children and adolescents in Zambia.
