OUR STORY
In 2004, an HIV+, seven-month pregnant woman living in a bus terminal in Lusaka, Zambia, was found by the sisters of a local orphanage and brought to Dr. Tim Meade for medical care and attention. After delivering the baby, Dr. Tim and a team of volunteers worked together to support the mother by taking turns to bring warm formula to the baby. Unable to care for her new-born son, the mother asked Dr. Tim to take care of the baby, as a sign of gratitude she named the baby Tim. It was baby Tim and his mother’s story that inspired Dr. Tim's family and friends to begin Tiny Tim & Friends.
