Mutumu Nzala Mwape is a retired Major from the Zambia Army and former State Advocate, with over Sixteen years of legal practice. She is currently Legal Counsel for the Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency a Statutory Body that regulates products to ensure public health and safety.

She has served as Chairperson for the Lake Road PTA School Board of Governors for four years until April 2024. Mutumu also Chairs the University of Zambia Staff Tribunal and the Zambia Institute of Planners Disciplinary Committee.
Mutumu is a skilled Legislative Drafter trained to contribute focused, accurate and well researched legislation to the statute book.
Mutumu obtained her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Law from the University of Zambia and is a currently pursuing a post graduate qualification in tax with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants. She is qualified to practice in the superior courts of Zambia having been called to the Bar in February 2008.
Mutumu has a wealth of training and consultancy experience in matters of Employment Law, Contract Management, Regulatory and compliance practice, Taxation, Monitoring and Evaluation.
Mutumu is self-driven, ambitious and focused. Her future plans include obtaining a Doctorate in Business and authoring a book.
